GENICA is the first private genetic laboratory in Bulgaria. Fully specialized in DNA and RNA diagnostics of genetic and infectious etiology diseases, GENICA provides a full range of modern genetic methods and technologies for analysis of human, viral and bacterial genomes (PCR; RT-PCR; sequencing; hybridization techniques).
GENICA is govern by the principle that the genes are the key to the diagnosis and prevention of number of medical conditions, including reproductive failure, cancer, rare genetic diseases, sexually transmitted infections, respiratory infections and others. The laboratory also offers DNA programs focused on daily lifestyle - diet, sports, detox, skin care, memory and concentration.
Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer globally among women between the ages of 20 and 55. It is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). Cervical cancer is the final stage of untreated HPV infection, characterized by the continuing presence of HPV and detected by repeated DNA testing of cervical samples. HPV infection is primarily sexually transmitted and usually occurs without clinical signs or symptoms.
The process from HPV infection to cancer is slow. This makes the initiating infections and the pre-disease lesions treatable with regular prophylaxis, thus preventing the development of cervical cancer.
Up to 93% of cervical cancers are preventable with GENICA’s diagnostic solutions.
GENICA's FERTILITY TEST® provides the best prophylaxis of associated with infertility genital infections .
In cases of infertility and recurrent miscarriages with unknown etiology, the FERTILITY TEST® allows for the detection of direct bacterial and viral activity, associated with the development of infections causing infertility.
The FERTILITY TEST® is an innovative non-invasive test created by GENICA. It provides a high-class diagnostic solution in line with global achievements in the field of reproductive problems. The FERTILITY TEST® will help on the way to a successful pregnancy - natural or in vitro.
Prenatal care is the care women get throughout pregnancy. Prenatal care can help keep pregnant women and their babies healthy. Doctors can spot health problems early when they see mothers regularly. This allows doctors to treat them timely. Early treatment can solve many problems and prevent others. Ideally, prenatal care should begin prior to pregnancy and continue after and between pregnancies as part of a comprehensive overall strategy for women's reproductive health.
GENICA's diagnostic solutions include high-end tests for complex assessment of vaginal, cervical and endometrial microbiome, sexually transmitted infections, congenital thrombophilia, prevention of the risk of miscarriage and premature birth. Tests for syndromes, congenital anomalies and rare inherited diseases in the newborn are also included.
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are among the most common infectious diseases reported worldwide. Millions of new cases are reported each year. STDs are caused by bacteria, parasites or viruses and are transmitted from one person to another through vaginal, oral and anal sexual contact. Correct use of latex condoms significantly reduces but does not completely eliminate the risk of sexually transmitted infections.
Untreated, sexually transmitted infections can lead to serious health problems, including pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility, ectopic pregnancy, miscarriages, perinatal or congenital infections in the newborn, cervical cancer, liver cancer and more. Sexually transmitted infections often do NOT show symptoms, - you may have an infection and not know it, and that carries a huge risk of health complications. Therefore, if you are sexually active, it is important to get tested regularly.
Vaginal dysbacteriosis is linked to an imbalance of “good” and “harmful” bacteria, normally found in a woman's vagina. A type of bacteria called lactobacillus keeps the vagina slightly acidic thus bad bacteria don't grow well. If the lactobacillus levels drop, more bad bacteria move in, and BV occurs. Changes to the normal microbiota also increase the risk of sexually transmitted infections.
Vaginal dysbacteriosis is the most common infection among reproductive-aged women, and the disease is associated with infertility, induction of miscarriages and problematic pregnancies.
84% of women have no symptoms and 40% remain misdiagnosed due to limitations of the widely used diagnostic methods.
The Femoflor ® DNA test for one provides a unique next-generation diagnostic platform for detecting the cause of reduced intimate health/comfort.
